*POVERTY not as bad as MAN*

Poverty is bad enough
But it’s far better than I am
It mocks you for the world to see
But expects nothing in return
At least, it is real.
Compared to me .
I only pretend to help
But deep down I know
That I am not doing it for love
But for the likes on Instagram
I want to be called a good Samaritan
I mock the poor, with the help I render
I derive my own joy
From their sorrow
I make promises that I can’t fulfil
And give them false hopes
I sympathize with them
In front of the world
But I laugh at them
Behind closed doors
To me they’re nothing but but stepping Stones.
Instruments that I use
To achieve my selfish goals
Now tell me
Is poverty as bad as I am?
