My hides are thick and thorny.
I look tough and scary
Merely looking at me you don’t want to be my friend
Because you think I’m unfriendly.
You’re being deceived by my camouflage
I’m soft within
My soul is sweet
I’m close to being an angel
Behind my frown is a wide grin
But you don’t know this because you fail to see
Beyond my camouflage
I wasn’t always like this
But the trials of life
Changed my countenance
Now I’m too afraid
To show the real me
The only place I feel safe is behind my camouflage
